When Christian Witches Attack You

On several occasions Christian witches have attacked our ministry. We were holding a conference in Central America. It takes a lot of prayer, hard work and finances to organize conferences and crusades. The week before our crusade three Christian witches came to the house of one of our conference organizers. Holding large rusty spikes in their hands they began to prophesy three curses against our meetings. Can you imagine that? Each spike was representative of some type of suffering we would face during the meetings. They cursed our health, finances and attendance. Our organizer was shocked and rebuked them in Jesus Name. They left.

After some investigation we discovered Communists were behind the attack and conspired to stop our meetings in the country by releasing demonic curses. These three Christian witches were in league with a Communists political party and members of a religious denomination that did not want any “competition for souls” in their city.

In this country the Communists were trying to infiltrate the Protestant church for their support during upcoming national elections. They were forming their own pastoral associations and infiltrating others, hosting city leadership meetings, financially supporting certain pastors of large congregations even buying them cars and giving their family members jobs within the government. This is a manifestation of high level principalities and powers working within the leviathan state and networking with various liberal factions within the Church of Christ. This is an ancient demonic strategy trying to stop the Kingdom of God from advancing.

The day we arrived in the country we heard of the demonic encounter. Already four innocent people had broken bones from slip and fall accidents. The suffering had begun. We called an immediate prayer meeting to bind up the “suffering curses.” The curses were broken in Jesus Name and the meetings a success with hundreds of people saved, healed and baptized with the Holy Ghost. Only demon powers can influence other “Christians” to do things like this.

HINDERING THE MOVE OF GOD

I like to pray for people after preaching. We call people to the front of the church, lay hands on them and pray for them. The Holy Spirit does powerful things during this part of the service. I love to see people experience the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Once during this part of the service a woman was sitting in the audience. It was reported that she stood up and began to release curses at me. She turned to the north, then to the south, then to the east, and then to the west releasing curses all the while. She didn’t like me talking about the baptism of the Holy Ghost or laying hands on people to receive healing and deliverance. Only demon influenced people can be used in such a way. Why didn’t she just leave the service? It’s been reported this woman has attended many churches in our city claiming to be a Christian. There is no telling what demonic damage and spiritual warfare she has caused and released to the unsuspecting. Our ushers will throw her out of the church if they catch her visiting and doing any such thing again. Occasions such as this require our love for the brethren to be expressed by throwing people out of the church to protect the innocent within the church. Not everyone that walks into a local church belongs there. Some are witches, wolves, goats, and false prophets. There are many lessons to learn in ministry. Scripture says,

“These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots” (Jude 1:12).

On another occasion a Christian witch came to my house saying something like “because you have not received me as your personal prophet you will die in thirty days.” I rebuked that demon and threw him out of my house in Jesus Name. The boldness and arrogance of these demons is amazing. I know we don’t talk about these things much but they do happen. That’s why I wrote “Exposing Spiritual Witchcraft”. Demons are not nice. They are cruel, wicked and will work all sorts of dirty schemes to stop you. Remember, it’s not people you are wrestling against but demonic powers. That’s hard to remember sometimes especially when under attack but you can do it by the grace of God.

DEMONIC NETWORKS

Jesus modeled the way regarding confrontations with demon powers and healing the sick. Scripture declares, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that he might destroy the works of the devil” (1 John 3:8). The works of the devil must be discerned. You can’t bind or cast out what you cannot see. Spiritual discernment requires one to be well versed in the Word of God and walking in the anointing of the Holy Ghost. Scripture declares, “For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:13-14).

Demon spirits are crafty. They like to infiltrate ministries. They like to blend in. They try to deceive both the weak and the strong. As already said they will do their best to stop your spiritual discernment even if it means using guilt manipulation, scripture, false prophecy, religious legalism, state sponsored Communists, or Christian witches releasing curses.

The divination spirit is known in the New Testament as pneuma python or a python spirit. This spirit works with others in prophetic operations and deception including pneuma plana, spirit of error, also known as the seducing spirit. Scripture declares, “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils” (1 Timothy 4:1). These are the teaching and prophetic spirits. the Jezebel spirit is the strong man of this group of spirits. She is a teaching spirit, a prophetic spirit and a controlling manipulator that usurps authority at every opportunity. Jezebel targets the ignorant, the loving, hurting, wounded, offended, even the corrected rebellious. Jezebel works in spiritual deception and guile to advance her own agenda. Often forming soul ties with her victims she works her demonic plan. The control of others gives her a sense of value and satisfaction.

The damsel that followed the Apostle Paul had a spirit of divination. That spirit was up to no good. Here is the testimony.

“And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying: The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation. And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers.” (Acts 16:16-19)

THE SOOTHSAYER

The divination spirit tried to infiltrate the ministry of the Apostle Paul. These spirits will try to penetrate your life too. If not you then someone close to you. Notice this young lady was a soothsayer. A soothsayer is a prophetic person that uses a familiar spirit to prophesy. She also followed Paul exhorting the people to listen to his message declaring these “show us the way of salvation.” Even though her exhortation was correct something grieved Paul in his spirit. Her spiritual operations were not by the same Holy Ghost that was in Paul. This is where spiritual discernment comes into play. Every believer must know people by the spirit. This requires spiritual discernment. This means making a judgment. In other words every believer must make a spiritual judgment. Paul did. Paul being grieved in his spirit turned and spoke to the spirit within the girl to come out in Jesus name.

THE WARRIOR’S LIFESTYLE

Spiritual warfare is a lifestyle. It’s not something you do but a way you live. Spiritual battles are fought in the spirit. You do it with battling prayers and the Word of God. Some things can be taught in the classroom but spiritual warfare is learned on the battle field. I wish it were not so but every experienced warrior knows that God equips them with His Word and Holy Ghost but they have to do the fighting. When you fight you win. There are no spoils without the battle. Every believer knows he must:

• Identify demonic activities, wiles and strategies.
• Engage the enemy.
• Make war against demon powers that try to influence, manipulate and deceive.
• Stand fast against every demon power that’s come to steal, kill and destroy.
• War against demons that have deceived and possessed others.
• Avoid the flesh and stay in the Spirit.

The warfare of the saints is not a weekend activity. It’s a lifestyle of the victorious sons of God. Just as Jesus overcame so you too can overcome. The spiritual warrior quickly learns to be led by the Holy Spirit and that prayer is his or her most powerful weapon against the wiles of the devil. Warriors show no mercy on the devil.

Devils are unmerciful, cunning, and hate the human race created in the image of God. They will stop at nothing to destroy every semblance of the Creator. This is why every disciple must keep himself spiritually strong, prayed up, pure and walking in the Spirit. It’s in prayer and meditation in the written Word of God that we draw from the wisdom of God.

As already said spiritual warriors don’t play games with devils, they expose them to light and cast them out of their hiding places. Spirits network together. They watch and see what worked yesterday and what’s working now to attack you. Some may be lying spirits that tell things about you that are not true. They may release visions or dreams to people about you. They may even send Christian witches to curse you. They use every opportunity and dirty trick possible to harm your Christian witness and stop the move of God in your life, ministry or church. The prayer warrior must be fully armed at all times, fully alert watching always for the wiles of the devil.

HOLY GHOST POWER

Jesus was anointed by the Holy Ghost. He was the Son of God with power with multitudes following him. He wasted no time after the Holy Ghost came on him to heal the sick and cast out devils.

“For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues. And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God” (Mark 3:10-11).

After the baptism of the Holy Ghost Christ performed miracles, healed the sick, raised the dead and cast out devils. This is why He told his disciples after his resurrection to wait for the promise of the Father, the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 1:4). Jesus knew what it would take to build the Church that demon powers could not destroy. Jesus commanded his revolutionaries to wait for the gift, the gift of the Holy Ghost. These waiting believers were baptized with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues (Acts 2:1-8; 8:14-18; 10:45-46; 19:5-6). They were ready to put on the armor of God, discern evil spirits, cast out devils, bind the powers of darkness, heal the sick, and preach the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Spiritual warriors don’t let demon spirits stop them with false accusations. You are a spiritual warrior. Put on the armor of God, use your spiritual discernment, stand and withstand all the wiles of the enemy. At the name of Jesus no weapon formed against you can prosper.
