Wolves in Sheep's Clothing
Merchandising in the church
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. Matthew 21:12-13

Books, cd's, dvd's, clothing, GRAVEN IMAGES, trinkets and RELIGIOUS JUNKWARE of all kinds can be found being sold in nearly every ministry. Is anyone reading what the Word of God has to say about all this selling, graven images and idols? What does the Bible say about all this?
Graven, Carved Images
The figurine pictured on the right can be found at Perry Stone's website [voe.org] amongst his long list of religious junkware. This figurine is supposed to be Jesus washing Peter's feet but if you take a closer look at it not only are we looking at a GRAVEN IMAGE but the face of Jesus is very evil and skeletal looking.

My oh my! This is blasphemous to our Lord and degrading to the Word of God. How Satan has twisted the Word of God in order to lure the ignorant, unprepared church into his lair. What's next? A so called 'Christian' ouji board? Read witchcraft in the church.
Passing Scriptures inside the devil's toys is dangerous. Of course, the Scriptures inside this bag of tricks is the New International Version (NIV), not the King James Version. Read what's wrong with the NIV.

Seen here on the right is one of several pentagrams I found being sold with religious junkware for kids.

This practice of selling "spiritual things" has a name for such spiritual fraud: "Simony." It comes from Acts 8, where Simon the Magician offered to pay Peter and John to pray with them to receive the Holy Spirit. He obviously saw a lot of entertainment value. It was a practice in some churches "of the buying and selling sacred of spiritual things, as ecclesiastical pardons, church offices etc." Simon the magician who had amazed Samaria with his entertainment saw some real financial possibilities here when he watched Peter and John praying with people to receive the Holy Spirit, just like these kind of preachers or whatever they call themselves.
And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. Acts 8:18-19
Listen to what Peter said to Simon, which applies to all people who want to sell and buy spiritual things.
But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. REPENT therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. Acts 8:20-23
This is a sure and certain path to hell whenever someone thinks they can sell or buy anything that Jesus offers by faith. Such people should follow Peter's advice and repent. Simon’s response was,
Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me. Acts 8:24
This practice shows us where such people are at: "For the love of money is the root of all evils; it is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced their heart with many pangs (pains)" (1 Timothy 6:10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.1 Timothy 6 verse 10). These people have sold themselves to hell. These people have become the modern Scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees, to whom Jesus said, "You are wrong because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God (Matthew 22:29Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.Matthew 22 verse 29). They have sold themselves cheaply to the devil.
