Nashville, TN, is the Hollywood of the music industry. So many churches here make their so called "praise and worship" teams into "celebrities." The Trinity Broadcasting Network even used to run a program called Celebrity Showcase. This always was a huge turnoff to me. I have never met a singer here who was not wrapped up in the fame, money, and attention. This is wrong. With God there are no "celebrities." The gospel message is supposed to be FREE but people place price tags on it everywhere you turn. This is not of God.

Christian musicians and entertainers are often not the people that we believe them to be. I have been terribly disappointed to find many of them just putting on acts in front of the camera and off camera they have a whole different personality. Many of them are apostate and many are following after or friends with false prophets. Many of them live secret lives. Many are homosexuals or bisexuals, alcoholics, do drugs, or have adulterous affairs going on. It is typical of professing Christian music artists today that they love to be idolized. They love to be called "celebrities" as even Trinity Broadcasting Network runs a program they call "Celebrity Showcase." People raising themselves up on pedestals, 'sexualizing' idols, and throwing God in between everything to make themselves appear spiritual. Others do not hide their sin at all but are still applauded by the counterfeit church.
